About Susan Lauzac...

My Career Journey
I have travelled the same path you are about to take...
I have a Ph.D. in Computer Science and ten years experience
working in university environments including experience in
teaching, advising and curriculum design. Although I was
successfully moving towards tenure at a local university, where
I was publishing papers in peer reviewed publications and
teaching programming and computer architecture courses, I felt
dissatisfied in my academic position.
As part of my discovery process, I found I no longer enjoyed the
purely engineering aspects of teaching Computer Science as I
once did. What I noticed is that I have much more interest in
helping people become successful. In fact, what initially drew
me to teaching was my desire to supply support, inspiration, and
guidance in an academic environment, which is a great place to
help people with their career trajectory.
When I noticed a lot of my talented students having trouble
finding jobs after the dot com boom ended, I realized that
getting a great education was only one part towards
creating a satisfying career. Learning how to leverage
your strengths to create the growth and change you want is
equally important. All of the skills that I learned are skills necessary
for evaluating and analyzing career and academic options, and I
can demonstrate and teach people these skills.
My Mission:
I am committed to helping
adults and students clarify their career and academic goals
while empowering them to create fulfilling careers and
meaningful lives.
Each client is unique, not only in their talents and skills,
but in their visions for success and the future. I always look
forward to actively participating with each client in a process
that brings greater fulfillment, clarity and happiness to their
lives.
